Home tour- An all white shabby chic country cottage!

Honestly, I am not always a fan of an all white palette but when it is done beautifully like this gorgeous six-bedroom family home, it feels warm, relaxed and inviting. Let's take a tour of this shabby chic home.

While it never crosses my mind to decorate my own home in a shabby chic style but if I were to decorate one, I would refer to this gorgeous home for inspiration. Do you like this shabby chic home or shabby chic style in general? Do you find distressed furniture appealing or do you prefer brand new furniture?

  1. OH Jessie - I always love the places you find. This ticks a lot of boxes for me - love distressed furniture - but not new stuff made to look old - has to be really old and tired looking ha ha.
    Have a great day sweets,

  2. This home is very rustic, light and comfortable looking. The wide plank floors are charming. I don't decorate this way, either, but, I appreciate the character and simplicity of the style.
    Thanks for sharing, Jessie!

  3. I think it would be too clinical and stark without the distressed and rustic elements. The presence of plants and flowers in almost every room makes such a huge difference!

  4. I've always liked this look. I know it became VERY popular a while back and yes, maybe (over done) but when it's done right it takes on a timeless feel. These images are a great example.... so many interesting pieces that really stand out in a clean, white background.

  5. I'm normally not a fan of shabby chic but this home is really pretty! Btw, you are going to love your deer head, it's quite the conversation piece. I would love to see pics when you have it hung!

  6. Jessie, I agree. This is a beautiful home. Love how interesting it looks. I had to take a couple of peaks up and down.

  7. Beautiful. I love shabby chic style for country cottages. My husband would never let me decorate it like this though. Haha...I dream of that bed and that tub though! :)

  8. Even though I refinish furniture in this style, I love it, but actually don't decorate with this style. Maybe just doses since I really love a mix of styles. It's funny since I just mentioned this struggle today! In this house I love that full length mirror behind the couch!

  9. I like some elements of shabby chic, but I wouldn't go for an entire home decorated that way. This home is beautiful, but how practical is it with that adorable little boy around?

  10. These are really pretty pictures! I don't love an all-shabby chic room, but I think that every room needs at least one thing that's weathered and "old" looking. And like you said, if I was going to go all-in with the shabby chic, then this place would be my inspiration because it's done beautifully.

  12. I'm also not into the distressed look, unless it has happened naturally and/or the piece is black. However, you are right that this place is done well. I agree with what others said about the wood warming things up, in addition to the other natural materials. The space has a more sophisticated, rather than sweet feel.

  13. I love to see places like these. While it's not what I would have in my home, it's so refreshing and calming to come across this lovely style and the viewing pleasure is immense!

  14. Wow, as a designer I know how immensely difficult it is to execute an all white room never mind a whole house. The challenge is to keep it warm and these people have nailed it. Lovely space!
