Cool designer alert- Delphine Krakoff!

Featuring talented, New York based designer, Delphine Krakoff. She grew up and attended business school in Paris. Though her education was in business, it was her own interest in design that landed her jobs at the luxury houses of Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior in Paris, and later Coach and Ralph Lauren in New York. Her innate sense of style and natural French flair made the transition into the trade seamless and led to the creation of her own interior design company, Pamplemousse Design in 2000. Her work has been featured in many leading home and fashion publications including Elle Decor, Vogue, House and Garden, Town and Country and Architectural Digest. Since 2000, her projects have included apartments and townhouses in New York City, country estates in the Hamptons, upstate New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and ski lodges out West. Let's check out a sampling of her amazing portfolio below:

The designer: Delphine Krakoff

What are your thoughts on her design style? Personally, I found her design very refined, eclectic and pleasing. I also love how she peppered her beautifully designed spaces with touches of quirkiness and the unexpected through the injection of artwork, sculpture and whimsical accessories. Needless to say, most of her interiors are gorgeous and interesting. With so many intriguing elements and objects found in her work, which one are you mostly drawn to? Any favorite rooms?

  1. I love that even if she mixes design styles in some of her works, elegance remains constant in all of them.

And I love how she uses pops of color to liven up her spaces...

  2. Three words come to my mind when I look at her interiors and those words are: sophistication, refinement and elegance. The girl surely knows how to impress and the splashes of colour show (most importantly) that she definitely knows how to have fun!

  3. I love how sleek and streamlined her rooms are. They manage to seem inviting and personal even in the sparsest surroundings. The thing that stands out to me the most is that she really just knows what she wants, and I think her rooms will be easily identifiable as hers in the future.

  4. Every image is so inspiring to me! Thanks for introducing us to this amazing designer. I love how her designs are somewhat unpredictable, there is not distinct pattern apart from just pure style! Favourite room - library! xx

  5. Although I think each space is beautiful, it's a little too refined and formal for my taste. But there are aspects about each room that I love - those stuffed sheep in the first pic are fantastic and I really love the dark moody library.

  17. For some reason, the first couple images remind me of Austin Powers :) The green rug is wonderful and a little retro. And that sheep is killing me! Love it! Beautiful designs and very sophisticated.

  20. I would pay millions of dollars to have her come design my house.
    That's a lie.
    I would pay her $20.
    That's only because I have $20, though.
