A space with rustic elements is appealing to many of us because it instantly injects warmth and evokes a sense of history in a room. While rustic decor is commonly used in cabins and mountain estates, they have found a place in contemporary and modern interiors today because more and more people started to appreciate its allure. The addition of rustic elements whether in big or small doses often make a space feels more lived-in, timeless and inviting regardless of the overall design style. Below are some ideas of how to incorporate a little rustic decor in your own home.
Are you a fan of rustic decor? Which rustic element are you most drawn to and why?
Jessie these images are divine...they are truly wonderful and I thank you for sharing them - will keep a couple in my special home file :)

Lovely pictures! I think I prefer about 20% of a rustic element, a bit more if it's a floor material. My favorite is number nine, because I like the juxtaposition of the formal sofa and the casual, rustic floor.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning images Jessie! I'm all about rustic elements, my dream home would have old wide oak floorboards and ceiling beams and a huge stone fireplace and antique light fittings and... ok, getting a bit carried away but you get the picture!
ReplyDeleteI just love that table with those tree trunk legs.. how incredibly creative :) xx Anastasia
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is n. 8 - love white interiors in combination with ratan, even if in small amounts <3 the color palette kicked my ass :) love it <3 xoxo

ReplyDeleteI love this decor style! I am drawn to the rustic beamed ceilings and a blend of rustic and modern at the dining table too! Gorgeous images- I think I may have to bookmark most of these! :)
ReplyDeleteRustic chic is not necessarily for me, but I love to look at beautiful interiors in this style! These are gorgeous! My mom on the other hand, loves it so I will have to pass this on to her :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE rustic charm - I like mixing it up a bit - something new, old, rustic, industrial - give the place an authentic feel. Love this post though Jessie - my fave is the bathroom, or the birch branches under the table - brill.

Love the lowered bath and candle combo, Jessie! Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteNumber 8 and number 9 are my favorites- all that white in #9 along with the dark wood floor- so pretty! And I love all the pictures of the white wooden walls.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment about my centerpiece! I am so happy with it; I hate when I know something needs to be changed but I haven't figured out a solution- it drives me crazy! Now I can be at peace again! :)
I like touches of rustic to add texture to a room, but over all I am not a rustic kind of gal, but give me a great basket with lots of texture and I am a happy camper!! Kathysue
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the comments on my bookshelf! :) You always brighten my day! I love these photos, I think this might be one of my favorite post of yours! I love the rustic style. But only when it's done right. All of the pictures above shows how to do it right of course! :)
ReplyDeleteMy mother has a friend who's a total slave to what she refers to as the rustic style, but she's crammed her house full of old, unpolished, damaged stuff. None of it is worth anything and is beyond saving. It's too much and without any order. I think mixing the old or rustic looking with plain, clean items or colors is essential to make this style work. Balance. Always balance! :)
I love the second and third picture! I want to live like that :)
These homes are so stunning. I am a little bit obsessed with the wood ceilings. There's really something so comforting about a room that has that rustic edge. Great pics.
ReplyDeleteMan...these are some really gorgeous images! So much to study and get inspiration from I might have to add a few to my files!
ReplyDeleteWell.. that's settled: my future home will be "rustic"!
