Home tour- Karim in wonderland!

Most of us have probably heard about Karim Rashid, one of the most prolific designers of his generation. Over 3000 designs in production, over 300 awards and working in over 35 countries attest to Karim's legend of design. With such an amazing portfolio, one might wonder how his home looks like. It doesn't disappoint, to say the least. Now, let's take a tour of his 1,600 square-foot New York loft in a brick industrial building with 10 1/2 foot ceilings he shares with his Serbian wife, chemical engineer Ivana Rashid.

The Designer: Karim Rashid

Karim Rashid clearly has bold aesthetics and is unafraid to push the design boundaries whether in his product designs or interior designs. His home is bursting with vibrant colors and interesting shaped furniture making it looked uber modern and slightly futuristic. Karim's use of wild color schemes and patterns may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is definitely inspirational. What do you think of his home? Do you think his designs is over the top and overbearing? Or do you find it inspirational? Do you have any favorite elements?

  1. I love this guy and his place is so fantastic! I just have to say that it's designers like him who I relate to the most. I just think that when you get home at the end of a hard day your home should be beautiful, and special, and most of all it should have the ability to make you happy.

I don't think I would be so bold in decorating my place or anyone else's(unless that's their taste!). I have to admit that I would probably never stop smiling if I lived there!

Thank you for sharing; your blog is definitely one of my very favorites because it's always so inspiring.:) xx

I'm always inspired by other peoples styles, not matter how different it is to mine, it encourages me to push my own boundaries. Thanks for sharing Jessie. 5. Another surprise! You have to admire someone with such a specific aesthetic -- only who lives with it in his home and in the way he dresses. Pretty amazing.
