Cool designer alert- Jessica Helgerson!

Featuring Jessica Helgerson, an award-winning designer based in Portland, Oregon. She was named "20 Young Designers to Watch" by Traditional Home magazine in 2010 and "The Next Wave: America's top young designers" by House Beautiful Magazine in 2004.

With 15 years of experience designing residential and commercial interiors, she is active in the environmental building movement and has applied her knowledge of green design to leading-edge projects. Her firmed worked on one of the first LEED certified buildings in the U.S., University of California, Santa Barbara's Bren Hall. Jessica is also a past president of the Sustainability Project, a nonprofit organization made up of architects, landscape architects and other design professionals devoted to creating a more sustainable built environment.

Jessica studied interior and environmental design at University of California, Santa Barbara. She also holds a bachelors degree in English from University of California, Los Angeles. Her design style is typically clean and uncluttered. Now, let's take a look at some of her amazing designs.

Besides being an incredibly talented designer, I admire her for respecting the environment and incorporating sustainable materials in her designs.   6. I had actually seen a couple of these pictures before but I never knew who designed them (I love them so much that they are saved in my inspiration folder). I just love the stark contrast between black and white with the bright green pops of colour! I also think she has hit the mark by focusing on sustainability as this is definitely the way of the future! Thanks for sharing this!

  14. I remember seeing that home with the white and black and timber panelling (the one with the round dining room table & benches) and falling in love, long before I had ever heard of Jessica Helgerson! Her work is beautiful - crisp, classic with lots of beautiful contrast.
